Transitions, Inc. Enhances the Recovery Experience for Their Clients — Bellevue, KY

Transitions Inc., a key organization in Northern Kentucky’s fight against drug and alcohol addiction, has created two new positions – Clinical Treatment Director and Supportive Employment / Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor.  These two new specialty areas are focused on providing Transitions’ clients with the highest level of therapeutic care and preparation for employment and self sufficiency.

The Clinical Treatment Director, Cassidy Lekan, LCSW, LICDC, will be leading the clinical staff in delivering evidence based treatment interventions at all of Transitions Programs.

“Cassidy is a key addition to an already top notch team at Transitions.  She brings a significant amount of clinical expertise and supervision of Medicaid billing supervision,” says Jim Beiting, Transitions’ CEO.

Ms. Lekan joins Transitions after working at Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio as a Clinical Supervisor.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Social Work from the University of Dayton and her Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina.  She is a Licensed Social Worker and Chemical Dependency Counselor, with a strong background serving those with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder challenges.

Terra Heitzman, BSW, joins Transitions as the Supportive Employment / Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist.  This position was created with partial funding from a Commonwealth of Kentucky grant.  She will be expanding and supervising Transitions’ Vocational Rehabilitation Program.  Jim Beiting stated,

“Terra is an exciting addition to the Transitions’ team.  She brings the energy, expertise and enthusiasm needed to make a Vocational Rehabilitation Program successful.  Many of our clients have difficulty finding and maintaining employment.”

Ms. Heitzman obtained her BSW from the University of Cincinnati and worked as a Treatment Advocate / Treatment Coordinator for the National Youth Advocate Program. In this role, she combined mental health treatment with community based advocacy. Prior to working in a social service setting, Terra spent over 10 years in hospitality management.  As an employer, she was responsible for identifying, screening and hiring candidates. Her experience combines a passion for advocacy and recovery with an in depth knowledge of employment processes, which will be a great asset to Transitions’ clients.
