Announcing – New National Certification!

Transitions exists to provide a safe and supportive treatment & recovery environment for those with the disease of addiction. We follow evidence-based models for care and intervention, as well as national guidelines for treatment.

In the 1980s, the American Society of Addiction Medicine began to create their Levels of Care Criteria as a way to define a national set of criteria for providing outcome-oriented and results-based care in the treatment of addiction. Since then, the ASAM Criteria has become the most comprehensive and widely used criteria when it comes to supporting patients through their recovery journey.

Our team here at Transitions has always operated using the ASAM Criteria as a way to adhere to national guidelines and to ensure that appropriate treatment is provided to a client based on the severity of their disease and their clinical needs. It’s important to our organization that we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our patients + align with newly recognized standards of care.

In 2019, we began working closely with the Department of Medicaid Services to understand the new requirements of Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment providers in the state of Kentucky. In April 2020, Transitions received a provisional certification from the state that designated us as a residential treatment provider, providing residential treatment services at a Level of Care 3.5 – which is classified as Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Treatment Services. Following this, we’ve been in the process of working towards national certification through ASAM to be recognized as a certified residential provider, as well.

We’re excited to officially announce that effective May 17th, 2021, Transitions is officially nationally certified with the American Society of Addiction Medicine as a 3.5 Level of Care Facility!

This new certification sets Transitions apart as a residential provider in the state of Kentucky and benefits our patients in many ways. Most importantly, it ensures that all patients will receive top-notch care from a residential treatment program that is equipped to deliver evidence-based care through the entirety of their journey. While our team has been operating within this criteria for a long time, we’re humbled + proud to officially be certified in this area.
